The USA Is No Christian Nation.

There was no mention of a God or the Bible in our Constitution or any other governing document written or signed by our nations founders.

The Declaration of Independence, which is NOT a governing document but a declaration to the monarch of our intent to succeed includes mention of a creator, but no mention of which of the 5000+ that man has dreamt up. At any rate, the Declaration of Independence, AGAIN, is not a governing document.

One might reference the "Treaty of Sicily" which was fashioned during George Washington's presidency and enacted during John Adams' term. Unanimously passed and plainly stated

"The United States of America is in no way a Christian Nation. Has no allegiance to the Christian faith, the Jewish Faith or that of the Musselman (Muslims)".

Further opportunity to invoke a deity into our countries foundation was given when our founders created
"The Federalist Papers".
These documents written by each of our founding congressmen describing in detail their personal defenses and reasonings for every aspect and amendment of the Constitution.

Within these papers, not a single writer etched a single mention of a God or Jesus, a Holy (or Unholy) Ghost, a Virgin, or a Sacrificial Lamb.
The only reference to religion is of protections from and of.
Our pluralistic society would not exist otherwise..

Though some of our founders were theist, a few were deist, and a pinch of agnostics (an athesit would have been shunned or shot) but they all knew the importance of keeping religion segregated from government.

If anymore is needed to show we are not currently a christian nation, one can reflect on the rhetoric over the past few years about the health care act (aka, my brothers keeper, sell everything you own and give it to the poor, heal the sick and feed the poor) and you can plainly see that a large sect of this "christian nation" wants no part in being "their brothers keeper", they certainly aren't "selling their shit to give anything to anybody", and couldn't care less if they fell over sick and died, (unless of course it was on their property).

So there is no evidence that we were and certainly no evidence that we currently are, a Christian nation.
